Early Intervention services are state-funded services available for children (birth to age 3) that have a significant delay in at least one area of development, have a condition that is known to cause a disability or delay, or is at a high risk for a substantial developmental delay. Phone resources:

  • Postpartum Support International Chat with an Expert. Connect with other moms and dads talk with a PSI expert about resources, symptoms, options and general information about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders from the privacy of your own phone. There is no need to pre-register or give your name. These sessions, are informational only and open to anyone with questions and concerns. Limited to the first 15 callers. Sessions will last approximately one hour. These Chats are not meant to take the place of needed visits to healthcare providers and do not provide therapy.
  • Postpartum Support International Warmline: 800-944-4773 Provides basic information, encouragement, support, and resources. Available in Spanish and English. Leave a confidential message at any time, and a volunteer will return your call asap.
  • NorthShore MOMS Line: 866-364-MOMS (866-344-6667) 24/7 hotline staffed by licensed counselors who can help you find information, support, and resources. You don’t have to be in crisis to call.
  • National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-8255


Local Postpartum Support Groups:

  • Mom2MomDG - Downers Grove, 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month, 10:30 - 12:00 pm. We also meet on the second Saturday of each month, so that spouses, families, or support people  can join in the discussion as well. RSVP in advance to ensure meeting times and dates (No walk-ins).   • Nurturing Mom Group - Elmhurst, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, 12:15-1:30 pm. This group is designed for new and expectant moms who may be experiencing any issues related to the transition to the role of motherhood.  Babies are welcome and registration is not required.   • Nurturing Mom’s Support Group - Naperville, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 11:45 AM. A support group for new and expectant Moms (babies welcome!) who may be experiencing anxiety, difficulty sleeping, or any issues related to the transition to parenthood. This group is led by a certified perinatal clinical therapist. Location: Our Savior’s Lutheran Church  (next to the Edwards Hospital ER) 815 South Washington St.  Free! 630-527-6363
  • Family Time Support Group - Lisle, First Saturday of each month, 12:00 pm. For new Moms, Partners, Grandparents( & babies!). Learn about perinatal mood disorders, how these can affect the entire family, as well as how to lend meaningful support at this important time.   • Postpartum Connections Support Group - Winfield & Geneva. Provides new mothers with the supportive intervention as well as social support from other mothers that is crucial during this time of transition. If you are experiencing any of the perinatal mood disorder symptoms, our facilitators are specially trained to help and support you. Children are welcome.
